The welded can bodies are transferred
horizontally onto the 4 stretching tools.
In one stroke, each tool can form a can
between 110 mm and 225 mm height
at a maximum rate of 37.5 strokes per
minute. This results in a production rate
of 150 can bodies per minute. The tools
can stretch the material up to 14 %
whereby the temper of the body metal is
a decisive factor. Each streching tool has
between 8 and 20 shaping segments. The
actual number depends on the can body
diameter envolved.
