- Cans are placed on a horizontal shuttle
and fed over an inner mandrel.
- Once in position the can is spun circum-
ferentially by the servo assembly for
proper pattern orientation and then em-
bossed by the engagement of the match-
ing inner spreading cylinder and the outer
tool roll.
- The very precise embossing process is
accomplished through a timed sequence
of machine cams, servos and air/vacuum
systems.
- Mounted to each motor assembly are
miniature light sensor heads. The light
sensor searches the rotating can surface
for a printed registration mark.
- Embossing will be possible in a area of
up to 350°.
- Maximum embossing depth is approxi-
mately 0.3 mm. |
