Can Man takes over FREI AG
After a successful take over by Can Man, it was time for a big celebration and meet & greets where all employees met and got introduced to each other.
1983
Establishing of MEPA AG can manufacturing plant
In 1983 FREI AG established its own can production facility in Tübach/Switzerland. The latest developments have been tested and improved on two fully equipped production lines. MEPA does no longer exist after Mr Frei decided to close it down due to a continued decrease of regular orders.

Very first powder coating unit, invented and designed by FREI AG
Many hours of overtime and night shifts were necessary to get the first system ready on time. All of our experience is built on this very first powder unit.

Celebration and delivery of 100th seam curing unit, built by FREI AG
A party was held after completion of the 100th drying unit. FREI AG has sold over 800 units during the past 40 years.
1977
Building a new production facility in Wittenbach SG
After production facilities in St. Gallen came to a limit, new properties had to be found. Suitable land was found in Wittenbach SG and constructions began.

Very first lacquer roller coating, designed by FREI AG
The very first roller coating unit for welded seams. According to a legend, this was the origin of the overhead seam.

Establishing FREI AG by Mr. Siegfried Frei
Mr Siegfried Frei established FREI AG in 1975 after he quit at Germann&Frei and started a new company, simply called FREI AG.
